Fabricatio n and Ele ctrochemical Study of Silver and Copper Nanowires in A cidic and alkaline Environment

After Masuda an d Fukuda[۱] reported a n ordered pore arrange ment in an anodic alum inum oxide (AAO), it has been wid ely accepted that the AAO template is an ideal mold because it posses ses many d esirable cha racteristics, including tu nable pore dimensions, good mech anical prope rty, and go od thermal stability. Moreover, especially for metal nan owires, the AAO templ ate has been proved to be a cheap and high yield techniq ue to produc e large arra ys of metals nanowires by the elect rodepositio n[۲,۳]. In this paper, anodic aluminum oxide ( AAO) templ ates were fabricated using a two-step oxidization method and were used to grow well aligned Ag and Cu nanowire s by the DC electrodep osition. The characteriz ation of the AAO templ ate and as-prepared nanowires wer e measured by scanning electron microscope ( SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD).
