There are various techniques for nitrate removal fro m contamina ted water. The ion exc hange proces s seems to be the most appropriate for water co ntaminated by nitrate because of it s ease of ap plication, u efulness, s electivity, recovery and relatively low cost (۱). The reuse of industrial wastes in the agriculture segment is increasingly encourage d, principally in develo ping countries. In this study phr agmites australis was u sed as adsorbent for nitrite removal.
