Treatment of carbon nanotubes by KOH fo r removal of fluoride from w aste water

Since discovery of the carbon nanotubes ( CNTs) in ۱۹۹۱, intensi ve researches have been done to investigate their unique physical and chemical pro perties, and various pr oduction methods have b een develo ped [۱]. Synthesis of the CNTs via chemical vap or depositio n (CVD) method has shown to be m ore controllable and cost-efficient when compa red with ot her synthetic high temperature methods such as arc discharge [۲] or laser vaporiz ation [۳]. T he chronic toxic effect s on human health of ex cessive inta ke of fluoride have been studied intensively an d the fluori de concentr ation in the range ۰.۵-۱ .۵ mg/l is generally c onsidered to be beneficial to huma n being. So it is imperative and sig nificant for removing ex cessive flu orides from water [۴].
