چکیده مقاله:

Caffeine is a naturally occurring s ubstance fo und in the leaves, seeds or fruits of coffee an d tea p lants[۱]. Ca ffeine stim ulates the ce ntral nervo us system, enhances immunity, strengthens the heart a nd induces diaeresis. However, ex cessive caffeine intake can lead to adverse reactions, such as o ver-stimulation of the central nerv ous system, increased blood pressure, and it can be a risk factor for rheumat oid arthritis and premat ure birth[۲]. Various m ethods have been attempted to remove c affeine from the aque ous solutio ns including using activated car bon[۳], molecular imprinted p olymers[۴], and polymeric resins[۵ , ۶]. Most o f methods r eported to r emove caffeine are based on a dsorption. Magentic n anoparticles (MN) are interesting materials h ave attracte d much atte ntion b ecause of their unique magnetic properties and widespre ad applicati on in differe nt fields such as mineral sep aration, ma gnetic storage devices, catalysis, a nd magnet ic refrigeration system, heat transfer application in drug delivery system, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), cancer therap y, and magnetic cell separation . The application of M N or MN composites in the field of adsorption of materials from aqueous media is becoming an interesting area of research[۷]. The main goal o f this study was to adsorb caffeine from the aqueous solutions b y incorporating of MN and almond shell c arbon.
