The rem oval of color from aquatic systems caused by presence of synthetic dye s that usually contains azo-aromatic groups is extremel y important from the environmental viewpoint because most of these dyes are toxic,mutagenic,and carcinogenic.Congo re d (CR) is a n anionic dye widely used in textile,rubber,p aper,and plastic industries,and as a pH indicator (Figure ۱ ).Using kinetic models,we can investigate the m echanism o f adsorption .The study of adsorptio n kinetics describes the adsorbate uptake rate and eviden tly this rat e controls t he residenc e time of ads orbate at the solid-liquid interface [۱-۴].
