چکیده مقاله:

Ammo nium gene rated fro m several industries exerts harmful effects on aqueous environments such as rivers and lakes[۱]. Electrochemical con version has been considered as a promising techni que for the removal of ammonium from different wastewaters.By indirect transfor mation, oxidants are produced in an electr ochemical reactor containing Na Cl as an electrolyte. To enh ance the efficiency of the electr ochemical p rocess, effective modification of electrodes can be perform ed with a suitable electronic conductor su ch as carbo n black (CB) a nd carbon nanotubes ( CNTs)[۲]. T herefore, in the prese nt study, th e abilities of carbon black a nd carbon nanotubes to enhan ce the electrochemical properties for oxidation of ammonium were utilized. T o achieve valuable results regarding the efficiency of the combined system for ammon ium remov al, response surface methodology (RSM) based on central composite design (CC D) was us ed due to its advantag es over the conventional “one-at-a-tim e” method
