Eff ect of hardness and softness of metals on the c orrosion inhibitor y of porphyrin compound

Aluminum, iron an d copper are engineering materials in widespread use. In the environments containing active ions like chloride, these ions accelerate the dissolution of th e metal. Therefo re, it is very importa nt to protect these metals from c orrosion. T he use of corrosion inhibito rs is one of the most practical m ethods for protection against cor rosion. Because of some desirable pro perties, porphyrins seem to be attractive in the field of corrosion inhibitor. We reported the in hibitory action of me so-tetrakis( ۳-methoxy-۴-sulphonatophenyl)p orphyrin (H۲TA PS۴) on alu minum, iron and copper corrosion in ۰.۶ M N aCl solution [۱-۳].
