چکیده مقاله:

Catech ol is one of the com mon building blocks in organic synthesis and is prod uced in industrial scales as the precursor of pesticides, perfumes and ph armaceuticals. The m ost well-known characteristic of the catechols is that they can be easil y oxidized mainly due to their antioxi dant activity and low oxidation potentials [۱]. The p roducts of oxidation are the corresponding reactive and electron-deficient o-quinones. Co nsidering th eir instability they can be produced o nly by in-s itu methods and mild oxidation of catechols. One of the most successful in-situ generations of reactive o-quinone s species is the electro chemical o xidation. [۲] The Michal a dditions of aliphatic, aromatic, and benzyli c amines to electroch emically generated o-quinone have been reported previously. The reaction pro ducts of aromatic amines with o-quinones have been reported to be d iphenylamine derivatives or their related quinonic forms. Diphenylamine is a parent compound of man y derivatives, which are used for the production of dyes, perfumery, pharmaceuticals, photo graphy ch emicals and further small-scale applica tions [۳].
