Kin etic study of the oxidation of dopam ine in th e presence of arom atic amines

Dopamine (۴-(۲-a minoethyl) benzene- ۱,۲-diol (D A)) is a naturally occurring biogenic catecholamine for med by the decarbo xylation of ۳,۴-dihydroxypheny lalanine and is aprecursor to epinephrine and nor-epinephrine in a biosynthetic pathway [ ۱]. It functions as a neurotransmitter in the central and perip heral nervo us systems. Insufficient DA conce ntration due to the loss of DA-produc ing cells m ay lead to a disease called Parkinson’s dis ease [۲]. Dopamine can be oxidized chemically or electroch emically t o its o-quinone derivative that are quite reactive a nd can undergoes Michael additi on reaction s by its side chain ami ne group or suitable nucleop hiles whic h known as intra and in termolecular reactions respectively
