چکیده مقاله:

The corrosion of steel is an enormous economic problem. T hus, efforts to devel op more efficient and environmentally compliant methods to prevent corrosion hav e been ong oing [۱, ۲]. The use of inhibitor is one of the most practical methods to protect metals from co rrosion, especially in aggressive med ia [۳]. Am ong Schiff bases ha ve been reported as potential inhibito rs on different metals [۴-۶]. Acid solutions are general ly used for the removal of rust and sc ale in industrial proc esses [۷].M ost of the well-known acid inhibitors are organic compo unds containing nitrogen, sulphur and oxygen atoms [۸,۹]. Hydrazonics Schi ff Bases were s ynthesized, characteriz ed and us ed as new corrosion inhibitors of mild stee l in the acidic media.Inhi bitory effect of corr osion inhibitors has been studied by a series of techniques, such as potentiodynamic polarization, weight loss and quantum c hemical calculation methods. We report the synthesis of Hydrazon ics Schiff Bases an d their inhibition action on the corrosion of mild steel in acid me dia and c omparison of their protection powers.
