Theoretical Calculations of the Host-Guest Inclusion Complex Formation of Cucurbit[n]urils w ith Multinuclear Platinum Anticancer Agent

In the ۴۰ years since the discovery of cisplatin, hundreds of new platinum(II) and platinu m(IV)– based complexes have been s ynthesized and tested as anticancer drugs. No wadays imp ortant improvements in platinum-b ased chemotherapy c auses applic ation of di- and trinu clear platinum drugs. The mechanis m of these drugs is through the c hemical bindings with DNA molecules which d estroys the cancer cells. The drug is destructe d as entering body by blood plasma proteins. T he researchers have used a group of macromo lecules named cucurbit[n]urils (CB s) as drug encapsulati on. CBs protect the dru gs from degradation[۱,۲ ].
