Schiff ba ses are an important class of ligan ds in coordination che mistry and find extensi ve application in diff erent fields .Schiff bases bas edon۶,۶ƍ-dim ethoxy-۲,۲ƍ-[hexane-۱,۶-diylbis(nitrilodimethylidyne)]dip henol can be used to o btain optical materialsan d conductin g polymers .Thus, new optical andorganic conducting material s can be produced b y thesecom pounds.Materials and methods:۱mmole۶ ,۶ƍ-dimethoxy-۲,۲ƍ-[hex ane-۱,۶-diylbis(nitrilodimethylidyne)]diphenol۰.۳۲۸gr an d ۱mmole pdcl۲.۰۱۷۷ gr was added to MeOH in ۲۰ ml.reaction was refluxed for ۸ h and a precipitate was obs erved. The solid complex was w ashed with metanol and dried at room te mperature.Complexs was calculated from the tra nsmittance and reflectance spectru m.
