چکیده مقاله:

Silicone rubber is widely used as the protective shed of outdoor high voltage insulators due to its inherent UV stability and unique hydrophobic properties. However, in sever field service, degradation due to environmental stress and electrical and thermal activities can induce changes to their electrical and mechanical properties which can lead to serious and unpredicted failure. So lots of efforts have been done to predict the useful life time of silicone insulators. [1]An experimental study was conducted with the aim to study the aging trend of in-field high voltage silicone composite insulators under real severe weathering condition (humid, hot, and polluted). For this purpose, silicon insulators with similar brand aged under accelerated condition equivalent with real environmental weathering situation. These insulators varied only in the time of operation.Degradation of each insulator was quantified through observation by determination of surface silica levels in damaged areas by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) otherwise known as electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA), low molecular weights extraction, Hardness, Tensile and surface roughness analyzer
