چکیده مقاله:

Binary blends based on PC/PBT have been receiving much commercial attention in recent years. In this work, influence of three types of organomodified montmorolonite(O-MMT) on PC/PBT blend properties were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) tests. The samples were prepared by internal mixer at temperature 260°C and the rotor speed of 60rpm. The blend ratio was 50/50 (PC/PBT by weight) and the effect of nanoclay content and type (Cloisite 30B, Cloisite 20A and Cloisite 15A) were investigated. The XRD results showed de-intercalation for Cloisite 30B because of thermal degradation and plastisizing effect of generated free surfactant and small molecules leads to decrease in Tg of PC phase in nanocomposites. On the other hand, no meaningful changes in Tg of PBT phase declared presence of Cloisite 30B in PC phase. By increasing the nanoclay level to 4 and 6%wt competition between plastisizing effect and immobilizing of polymer chains in presence of Cloisite 30B determine the trend of variation of Tg. Incorporation of Cloisite 20A and 15A into the blend displayed that Tg of PC phase didn’t show remarkable change and indicate of presence of these organoclays in PBT phase
