Design and Development of Biocompatible Antenna for Implantable Applications

This paper propose a new miniaturized antenna that covering the industrial scientific medical (ISM) band ۲.۴-۲.۴۸۳.۵ GHz. The antenna consists of a rectangular patch with coaxial feed and Y slot. The compact size of the proposed antenna is ۸ × ۸ × ۱.۲۷ 𝒎 In the proposed antenna, simulated bandwidth is about ۱۶۰ MHz. The result was verified by CST software in a three-layer phantom and human tissues (skin, muscle, stomach, small intestine, and colon). For safety consideration the SAR analysis of the antenna configuration has been studied.
