چکیده مقاله:
Introduction: Comparing the death rates of a particular cancer in a population at different times, regardless of age groups, leads to a false conclusion. The purpose of this study was to calculate of specific age and sex mortality rates due to Colorectal Cancer in Golestan province from ۲۰۱۱ – ۲۰۱۵.Materials & Methods: In a sequential cross-sectional study, referring to the province mortality registration data and using Direct Age and sex Adjustment, specific age and sex mortality rates was calculated .Results: In general, from ۲۰۱۱ to ۲۰۱۵ in Golestan province, the mean age of death in both sex was almost constant. Men were more than women in the risk of dying from colorectal cancer. In both sexes, the mortality rates was higher in older age groups. Therefore, individuals with higher age groups (Groups older than ۶۰ years old) were more at risk of death due to colorectal cancer. The highest risk of dying from colorectal cancer (both sexes) was in the age group of ۸۰ and older (۱۸.۱ - ۷۶.۹ per ۱۰۰,۰۰۰ people(. the mortality rates due to colorectal cancer for all age & sex groups in Golestan province have been gradually increasing from ۲۰۱۱ to ۲۰۱۵.Conclusion: Generally, the mortality rates due to colorectal cancer for all age & sex groups in Golestan province have been gradually increasing from ۲۰۱۱ to ۲۰۱۵. Therefore, the use of Screening & downstaging programs at secondary prevention levels is essential.
