چکیده مقاله:

Objective: The purpose of this study was to review the role of personality disorders in marital satisfaction of couples from the perspective of various domestic and foreign sources in the past few years. Research method: The method of present research was library-review study. Thus, the keywords of personality disorders, marital satisfaction and mental disorders were searched in the search engines of Persian Articles Bank include Google Scholar, SID, Noormags, Magiran and Civilica and foreign articles bank including Google Scholar, PubMed, Springer, Science Direct and Scopus with a time limit of ۲۰۰۰ to ۲۰۲۱, and the most related articles to the purpose of this study were selected. Results: It was learnt that numerous studies of domestic and foreign researchers on the subject of marital satisfaction have been conducted so far. The results showed that personality disorders, especially borderline, dramatic and paranoid personality disorders, play an important role in couple’s marital satisfaction. Conclusion: Personality disorders play an important role in marital satisfaction of couples, so therapists should pay special attention to personality variables and disorders to increase marital satisfaction.
