چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim : One of the most important problems of health care systems is the increasing prevalence of antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections. The use of natural substances such as plant essential oils with antimicrobial properties as an alternative to antibiotics is increasing. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Mentha piperita essential oils loaded in a chitosan nanogel on clinical isolates of Acinetobacter baumannii in-vitro.Methods : In this cross-sectional study, Acinetobacter baumannii isolates were isolated from selected hospitals in Khorramabad. After preparing Mentha piperita essential oils loaded in a chitosan nanogel, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of nanogels on Acinetobacter baumannii isolates was determined by micro broth dilution method in plate ۹۶ houses according to CLSI instructions. Results : The lowest and highest concentrations of nanogel MIC against the isolates of Acinetobacter baumannii were ۳.۱۲ and> ۴۰۰ μg/mL, respectively. Conclusion : The results of the present study indicate the ability of Mentha piperita essential oils loaded in a chitosan nanogel on Acinetobacter baumannii isolates
