Success in the use of electric vehicles (EVs) in large volumes depends on the quality of power and reliability of the electrical network and vehicle charging. To meet the requirements of EV operators, chargers must be high power quality, reliable and cost-effective. In order to achieve this goal, manufacturers of EVs and related equipment must have sufficient information about the specifications of the electrical network to which the charger is connected, as well as the effects that the charger can have on the network and the quality of service. Due to the presence of power electronic converters in the battery charger, the electrical power drawn from the distribution system has high distortions and the power quality of the distribution system due to these distortions can be subject to some problems. In this paper, a comprehensive study on the impact of chargers in terms of indicators such as penetration level, battery state of charge, type of charging stations, time of connection of chargers to the network and location of charging stations on a sample distribution network is performed. The effect of these chargers is investigated based on power quality parameters such as THD and voltage profile, and the effect of each of the indicators on these parameters is determined.
