چکیده مقاله:

COVID-۱۹ has made it clear that our daily lives depend to a high degree on access to energy. Therefore, now more than ever, it is necessary to promote new activities such as local food production and local energy capture. This article attempts to expose and quantify the benefits of a renewable energy transition in Ecuador post COVID-۱۹ and post-oil. The generation, consumption, and reserves of oil were characterized, and the concept of energy transition was applied to evaluate the possibilities of integrating renewables, the progressive exit of thermal power plants, and future energy strategies. After overtaking coal for the first time in ۲۰۱۹, low-carbon sources extended their lead in ۲۰۲۰ to reach ۴۰% of global electricity generation, six percentage points ahead of coal. The silent and invasive emergence of the Covid-۱۹, turned into a pandemic, “is harming, but not stopping” the global growth of renewable energy capacity. This paper aims to preliminary study the impact o the Covid-۱۹ on the renewable industry in light of the International Energy Agency, in a glance about the impact that the health emergency leaves in its wake on the economies, societies, and daily lives in the world.
