Restoration strategies of historic buildings with energy saving approach

Restoration and protection of historic buildings as a cultural heritage of a country is a very important issue. In this regard, paying attention to historical values, and preserving the identity and performance of the ancient buildings are important goals of the restoration team. Meanwhile, the issue of sustainability and energy efficiency of historic buildings, despite their great importance, are usually ignored in restoration process. The purpose of this study is to introduce measurement tools and methods to improve energy efficiency of historic buildings in the preservation and restoration process of historic buildings. In this process modern requirements and situations are considered along with the energy performance of the buildings. The purpose of this study is to introduce the most appropriate solutions for the restoration of historic buildings by improving their energy efficiency. The aim of this research is to introduce the practical solutions by which energy consumption in historic buildings can be reduced and their health and safety can be improved
