Judicial interpretation of the environment and human dignity

Within the framework of the development of the so-called “environmental rule of law,”there is an interesting aspect at the philosophical level directly based on the judges’commitments: the value of human dignity concerning caring for the environment. This work aims to demonstrate how in the jurisprudence of the last years of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Argentine, concerning the right to drinking water and the protection of water resources, respect for dignity is at the center of the interpretive work and constitutes a guiding criterion in judicial decision-making.
