چکیده مقاله:

The organic dyes are widely used in various industries such as ceramics, drug, cosmetic, textile, printing, food processing and paper. The release of organic dyes as chemically and biologically stable pollutants into the wastewater has become one of the main sources of water pollution in the environment. However, it is necessary to develop ecofriendly and efficient methods for the degradation of organic dyes. In this work, SnO۲/ZnO/eggshell nanocomposites has been synthesized using teucrium polium as a reducing agent and a stabilizer. The SnO۲/ZnO/eggshell nanocomposites were successfully used as an efficient and green photocatalyst for the degradation of organic dyes such as bromocresol green and methylene blue under UV irradiation. The degradation efficiencies of ۸۱% and ۹۵% were achieved for bromocresol green and methylene blue, respectively, after ۳ hours. The present approach has advantages such as rapidity, simplicity, high yield, low cost and most importantly, the use a bio-waste material of eggshell as support for nanocomposites.
