Investigation of properties of bohemite nanoparticles using urea precipitating agent The main importance of AlOOH (bohemite) nanostructures in the oil and petrochemical industries is in the construction of adsorbents and catalytic bases for various processes. High specific surface area and optimal dispersion in the liquid are the main effective parameters in selecting these materials as adsorbents and catalysts. Therefore, shape and size control has always been considered for AlOOH nanostructures. Hydrothermal synthesis method was used as a controllable method to fabricate bohemite nanostructures from aluminium nitrate in the presence of aqueous solvent at a temperature of ۲۰۰ ° C. The effect of urea precipitating agent on bohomite phase, its structure and morphology were investigated by XRD, FTIR, TEM and SEM analysis. Observations show that hydrothermal conditions and urea solution have a favourable effect on particle size distribution. The resulting nanostructures have a small thickness and an average width of ۴۵ nm. Analyses also reveal that AlOOH nanostructures are well crystallized and have an anisotropic structure.
