چکیده مقاله:

It is right that electric transportation is more energy-efficient and emits less CO۲ emissions than other types of transit systems but if we look more precisely, fossil fuels are still the main power source of electric vehicles in many countries. So, spreading the electric railway singly cannot cause a lot of economic and environmental advantages. There are two main ways to improve the power consumption of the electric railway system, a) using renewable energy sources (RES) and b) increase the electric energy efficiency in railway systems. There are different approaches to improve energy consumption efficiency, like traffic management, appropriate power management, utilization of regenerative energy, etc. This paper proposes an isolated dc-dc converter for using the regenerative energy which is generated during the period of braking in electrified vehicles. In the traditional method, the regenerative energy is dissipated in the braking resistors. The proposed dc-dc converter can control regenerative voltage and current to be used immediately or stored in an energy storage system (ESS). The proposed converter can achieve the low current ripple, the low voltage stress of power semiconductors, high conversion efficiency, and the wide voltage gain range. In addition to increasing energy efficiency, the proposed converter also offers other advantages, such as voltage stabilization, less dependent on the main power grid, peak power reduction, and emergency power supply for important loads. The performance of the dc-dc converter is verified by the simulation of the system in MATLAB/SIMULINK.
