چکیده مقاله:

Electrolysis of water is a sustainable and environmentally friendly way to generate hydrogen, which has motivated researchers to develop efficient and earth-abundant electrocatalysts. In the present work, the performance of CdSe@CdS quantum dots hybridized with graphene nanoribbon (CdSe@CdS/GNR) onto a fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) glass was investigated as photocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction. The nanostructures were synthesized using UV-assisted and hydrothermal methods and then characterized with XRD and FESEM techniques. The electrocatalytic activity of proposed catalyst was investigated for hydrogen evolution in alkaline media through linear sweep voltammetry. Low hydrogen reduction overpotential, high electrocatalytic activity and good electrochemical stability were some advantages that vindicated from the use of this catalyst in the industrial-scale electrolysis.
