چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: With the advent of smartphone technology and its rapid penetration into human life, a considerable change was made in all areas, especially in the healthcare industry. Today, the use of this technology in health care has received more attention. This study was conducted to investigate the role of smartphones and their applications in empowering nurses. The results of this study can help design and develop smartphone-based software in the field of nursing. Methods: This review study was conducted in 1399 by searching the MedLine, Scopus, SID, Science Direct, and Google Scholar search engines using the keywords Smartphone, Application, Empowerment, and Nursing. Articles were searched based on English since 2000. After reviewing the studies by researchers, data related to the study's purpose were extracted and reported after categorization. Results: In this study, 3210 articles were found that after removing duplicates and screening them, ten related articles were included in the study. In these ten studies, the lowest sample (80) was related to the purteimour study from Iran, and the highest sample (735) was related to the Flynn study. G was from the United States. Seven studies were quantitative (questionnaire), and one was a review study. In more than half of the studies, smartphones, and various applications in nursing education were reviewed. These studies showed that smartphones and applications empower nurses in terms of skills, knowledge and experience, self-centered learning, and self-efficacy. Finally, the therapeutic ability of nurses has been useful. In one study, smartphone-based nurses 'mindfulness interventions were studied, and it was stated that smartphone-based mindfulness interventions have more benefits in nurses' learning ability than traditional mindfulness. Conclusion: Smartphones and applications can empower nurses by improving performance and increasing efficiency, skills, and knowledge. Therefore, the use of smartphones in clinical settings requires the necessary standards and training.
