چکیده مقاله:

Coronavirus (Covid 19) is a large group of viruses known as a public health crisis and poses challenges to mental resilience. Anxiety in the corona disease is the anxiety created of getting infected by the coronavirus, often caused by a lack of knowledge and cognitive ambiguity. This study aimed to investigate the status of coronavirus anxiety in students and its relationship with sources of disease information. Methods: The present study was a descriptive cross-sectional study. The study's statistical population consisted of all nursing and midwifery students of the Islamic Azad University of Rasht, who were study in the academic year 2019-2020. One hundred thirty people participated in the study online and through virtual networks. Data collection tools included a questionnaire of demographic characteristics and the Corona-related Anxiety Scale (Alipour, 1398). This tool has been developed and validated to measure anxiety caused by the outbreak of coronavirus in Iran. The final version of this tool has 18 items and two components (agents). Items 1 to 9 measure psychological symptoms, and items 10 to 18 measure physical symptoms. The instrument is scored on a 4-point Likert scale (never = 0, sometimes = 1, most of the time = 2 and always = 3); Therefore, the highest and lowest scores that the respondents get in this questionnaire are between 0 and 54. High scores in this questionnaire indicate a higher level of anxiety in individuals. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics such as the Chi-square test and the Pearson correlation test. Results: The mean age of students was 21.50. 2.94 years. The mean score of the psychological dimension was 7.90, the physical dimension was 3.10, and the mean total score of the questionnaire was 11 8 8.61. In the psychological dimension, 63.7% of students reported moderate anxiety, and in the physical dimension, 9.7% reported severe anxiety, and in general, 15.3% reported moderate anxiety and 4.8% severe anxiety. There was a statistically significant relationship between the source of information about coronavirus disease and anxiety levels in students (P = 0.02). There was also a statistically significant relationship between students' residence and their status of Corona disease anxiety (P = 0.001). Conclusion: Nursing and midwifery students in the daily clinical environment witness many problems anddiscomforts of patients with Covid disease. Special hospital situations such as morbidity and death of patients, uncertainty at all levels, increase stress, and a vicious cycle of anxiety in them. Considering that a significant percentage of the students surveyed mentioned anxiety caused by this disease, it seems necessary to promote scientific information and health-related behaviors in them.
