چکیده مقاله:

Background: Parents play a key role in the sexual education of children. But the importance of sexual education to children has not been considered by family. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of parental sex education on children, by reviewing previous studies.Search Method: In this review study, data collection was performed using PubMed, Scopus, Google scholar, SID, Magiran databases and using sex education, children, family, sex issues, education, children, famihy, Sex issues It was Sexual. The timeframe of the selected articles was from 2010 to 2019 when 20 articles were finally reviewed. Articles were excluded because the sample size and sampling method were unknown or the full text of the article was not available.Findings: Although the main source of sex education for parents is children, the results of previous studies indicate that only 25.9% of mothers can answer their children's sexual questions correctly. . The benefits of proper parenting to children can include: increasing child self-esteem, reducing child sexual abuse, reducing child curiosity by searching on their own or another child's, delaying child sexual activity, helping to shape and develop children's behavior, mental health, preventing sexual disorders, affecting sexual identity, and reducing childhood self-stimulation. Research shows that boys do not receive family education despite needing sexual education. Conclusion: Considering the importance of sex education by family and low awareness of families on sexual issues, it is suggested that educational workshops on child sex education be held in parents' centers, educators and child care providers throughout the country. A complete sex education guide on what parents need to educate their children also feels strongly.
