چکیده مقاله:
In the present work, a novel (fuel) droplet generator is proposed and investigated numerically using boundary element method (BEM). The combustion process in the internal combustion engines is controlled by the fuel injection system (FIS). Therefore, the controlled fuel injection into the combustion chamber is of great importance. The idea is to inject the fuel in the form of microdroplets through a number of nozzles. This is unlike the conventional FISs where fuel is injected under high pressures (20-170 MPa) and then atomized into the non-uniform droplets. With this idea in mind, a new mechanism is proposed, which is based on the dynamics of non-equilibrium (spark generated or laser induced) bubbles. The Laplace equation along with the kinematic and dynamic boundary conditions is solved. It is found that the proposed actuation mechanism is capable of producing a droplet much smaller than the nozzle size and under certain conditions of the bubble dynamics generating a monodisperse, satellite-free droplet.
