چکیده مقاله:

Large eddy simulations (LES) of flow around a surfacemounted cube at a Reynolds number of 13,000 are performed by employing two dynamic subgrid scale (SGS) models, namely, dynamic one-equation subgrid model (DOESGSM) and standard dynamic SGS-model (SDSGSM). Some global quantities such as the dominating wake frequency (Strouhal number) and the mean and RMS values of flow field such as lift and drag, are computed. Also, a series of time and averaged resolved velocities and turbulent stresses are provided for comparison with the available experimental data. The present results show that the dynamic one-equation subgrid model is much more stable and no sign of the numerical problems usually encountered with the standard dynamic SGS-model is observed in the present flow geometry. However, its simulation needs more consideration in order to completely evaluate the capability of the dynamic one-equation subgrid model and its difficulty in different flow fields
