چکیده مقاله:

Fabrication of uniformly aligned titanium dioxide nanorods (TNRs) was performed through hydrothermal growth on a porous-silicon/ p-Si substrate. The purpose of the present study was to reach highly oriented crystallites of TiO2 nanorods. The hydrothermal synthesis time was varied from 4 to 10 hours while the other synthesis parameters were kept the same. The samples were characterized using FESEM and PL techniques. The results showed that the sample with 8 hours hydrothermal treatment illustrated the optimal alignment leading to the fastest electron pathway along the nanorod length and the least grain boundaries. It also showed the highest PL peak intensity implying the optimum light absorption through the electron transmitting layer of TiO2. This work suggests a favorable synthesis method for fabrication of properly aligned single-crystals of TiO2 nanorods that can be utilized in photovoltaic applications.
