چکیده مقاله:

Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies such as lakes, rivers, oceans, and groundwater caused by human activities, which can be harmful to organisms and plants which live in these waterbodies. Environmental pollution as a consequence of the industrialization process is one of the major problems that has to be solved or controlled. Removal of pollutants from aqueous solutions. was studied by using several methods such as chemical degradation, Ion exchange, reverse osmosis, photocatalysis, coagulation, sorption, etc. Adsorption is one of the efficient and cost-effective method for the removal of contamination. Among the different sorbents, perlite is very cheap, ecofriendly and easily available. Thus, this could make it a viable candidate as an economical adsorbent for removing of organic and inorganic pollutants such as heavy metals, dye, petroleum compounds, etc. The aim of the present study is to review the process of adsorption and investigate the capability of perlite for the adsorption of pollutants in aqueous solutions.
