چکیده مقاله:

The concept of learning styles describes individual learners’ preferences towards different types of learning and instruction. The present paper investigates the relationship among learning styles and online education by focusing on willingness to communicate and success in mastering the course content. The participants were 108 students majoring in teaching, biochemistry and biology. The students completed a questionnaire, including a learning style inventory. The questionnaire also surveyed students on their willingness to communicate and participate in asynchronous and synchronous discussions. The multiple regression analysis r = 0.568 showed pragmatists were more active in both asynchronous, and r=0.621 (p < .05) synchronous online discussions. Students of different learning styles seem to perform equally well in online education as far as mastering the course content was considered. Educators are advised to use students’ learning styles as a source of knowledge to design online education
