چکیده مقاله:
Among all treatments for cancer (surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy), chemotherapy plays an important role in clinical practice, but anti-cancer drugs are still an unsolvable problem due to their non-selective choosing capability which could kill both normal and cancerous cells, increasing deadly risks of side effects. For minimizing this problem and also from the economical aspect it’s advised to use lower dose drugs which can have an effective role. Therefore, an exciting potential solution for this problem is to encapsulate the drug in bio-compatible and biodegradable materials that can be injected into the bloodstream with the intention of delivering the drug to the target site with high local drug concentrations thereby achieving therapeutic efficacy while minimizing toxic side effects. In this research, various types of smart drug delivery systems and their mechanisms are explained.
