Population Structure of Brown Trout (Salmo trutta fario) During the Reproductive Migration to Lar Lake Leading Rivers

The aim of this study was to investigate the age structure, sexual composition,gonadhistology, growth factors, mortality and fishing of the Brown trout in Lar Lakeand its rivers. This information can then be used to study the population dynamicsparameters. Sampling was done in four permanent rivers: Delichahi, Ab Sefid, Alarmand Lar (Kamardasht) using electrofishing. An indirect method of evaluation criteriawas conducted. Also, bioassay methods were used for macroscopic studies and H&Rmethod were used for histological studies. The results showed that the maximumweight of extracted gonads was 60 g. Also, total length wasb 21.6 cm. The averagelength of the fish was 21.6±3.5 cm, the minimum and maximum was 14.2 and 32.8cm, respectively. The average weight of these fish was120.8±71.1 g. The average ageof the samples was 3.1±1.1 years and the age range of migratory fish to the riverstarting from 2 years to 6 years. Also, the investigation showed that the affluence of2 years old fishes was maximum (44%) and 3 years old and 4 years old fishes werein second and third place. Brown trout growth parameters in Lar lake rivers wereL∞=33.24 and K=0.36 and the average and total natural mortality coefficient were0.452 and 0.935, and the utilization rate was 0.51. Lar growth rate of the fish in theriver leading to the lake is higher than other areas. Also, according to moredevelopment of the gonads in September and October, the greatest amount ofspawning fish in Larlack area is in two months. Generally, this study showed thatbiological parameters of Brown trout in Lar lack area are in proper condition bututilization rate of brown trout in this area is more than its potential. So sustainableutilization of this stock should be planned for Iranian fisheries organization.
