Identification of intestinal bacterial flora of reared Kutum fish (Rutilus frisii kutum) in Qom

This is the first study to identifying the intestinal bacterial flora of Rutilus frisii kutum,reared in earth pond in Qom Province to introduce probiotic bacteria candidate. Sixkutum fishes with 871.5±180.3(gr) weight and 45.33±2.04(cm) total length averagescollected by dip net from an farm located at Qom province were sampled and thentransferred as live to the laboratory of microbiology of Qom university. The intestinesof specimens were immediately dissected and removed under sterile condition. Theintestinal tract of every two specimens were considered as replication. The removedsamples were homogenized and one gram of each were used to prepare dilution series10-1 to 10-7. The Samples was plated on the SBA, EMB, TSA and at 35°c for 24hours and incubated. The mean total counts of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria in fishintestines was 8.07 ± 0.61(Log CFU/gr) and bacteria including Klebsiella spp.,Bacillus licheniformis, Bacillus spp., Aeromonas spp., Streptococcus spp.,Pseudomonas spp., Vibrio spp., Erysipelothrix spp.,Citrobacter spp., were identifiedbased on Bergey’s and Koneman methods. Among identified bacteria, Aeromonasspp. was dominant. Based on the results Bacillus licheniformis can be introduce as aprobiotic candidate.
