Optimization Performance of Switched Inductor Z-Source Inverter Using Adaptive Controller

Several topologies have been proposed considering applications of impedance networks inverters and removal of its limitations. One of these topologies which is based on impedance-source inverter is impedance networks inverter via switched inductor. The limitation of D and M interference in the primary impedance source inverter is removed. Today, single-phase inverter pulse width modulation on the basis of PWM which commences power distribution must provide loads in a non-linear and critical condition. This load characteristic destroys the sinusoidal output voltage due to this fact that inverter output impedance is not zero. According to standards such as: IEEE-519 standard and IEC 62040-3, THD must be less than 50% especially for none-linear loads. The low harmonics, from second to thirteenth frequencies must be damped by closed loop controller, effectively. The controller should regulate the output voltages, properly against instantaneous deviations of input voltage and output current. It means that we need inverters which use a speed controller with desired dynamical reaction. Recently, many controlling methods have been developed for these issues. One of these non-linear control methods is the indirect adaptive controller which is based on the Lyapunov method, and provides Lyapunov stability function. In this paper, indirect adaptive controller is designed to control voltage of single-phase inverter of impedance source with switched inductor in order to be used in distributed generation sources. The designed controller is simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK to verify proper performance of the controller and has been compared with sliding mode controller and conventional PWM methods to show well performance of the proposed method.
