چکیده مقاله:

The pulse forming network (PFN) is one of the most important parts of the modulator in linear accelerators, which is responsible for storing energy at a specific time and discharging energy to the output load with proper pulse characteristics. In the past, the pulse forming line was noticed but due to its constraints, such as large volume and weight, and inflexibility in changing pulse width over time, and being inappropriate for high pulse width due to the need for a very high cable length, it was replaced by pulse forming network. Using Gilman s theory, the impedance function and admittance function of pulse forming line, the modeling networks is extracted which are A, B, C, D, E, and F. In this paper, we design a pulse forming network of type A, B, C, to achieve the desired pulse output characteristics, including output pulse voltage, output pulse current, pulse width, rise time, fall time, pulse width and so on. Then, simulation of three networks of type A, B, C in PSPICE software is presented and the results of these three types of networks are described in detail.
