Application of Integrated Kraljic Portfolio-Multi Objective Decision Making Techniques in Optimum Supplier Allocation

In current turbulent markets, the supply chain strategies as well as the customers’ demands would be vital to survive Company. Diversity of products and the various markets so as to purchase a particular product make confusion for firms. Initially, a systematic method is needed to classify the purchased product as well as a proper technique to facilitate the decision making. In this paper, Kraljic purchasing portfolio was used to classify the purchasing items. Furthermore, various brands of each item were compared to find out the values of profit impact and supply risk. Later, the potential suppliers were evaluated for supplying the items at each group based on a series of criteria. Pairwise comparison was performed and the suppliers were ranked at each particular group. Finally a multi-objective decision making model was developed for an optimum supplier selection. The results indicate providing laptop with Asus brand via Green™ company, speaker with Ersch brand via Green™ company, modem with D-Link brand via Green™ company, networking cable with Belden brand via Sistana™ company and printer with Canon brand via Mansana™ company are the optimum choice for Silver system© company in association with Iran market for the electronic items.
