Supplier Selection Based on a Combination of QFD and DEA with Ambiguous Data

The assessment and selection of the supplier is an important issue, which includes not only quantitativecriteria, but also qualitative factors with combination of ambiguity and inaccuracy. The proposed methoduses the house of quality (HOQ) to assess the implications of internal dependencies among the supplier sassessment criteria. The upper and lower bounds of the weights associated with the supplier s assessmentcriteria are determined by adopting a fuzzy method (i.e., fuzzy weight average (FWA)), which allows forthe integration of obscure and subjective information as linguistic variables. The vague DEA method forchoosing the supplier is utilized by applying the weights of the supplier s assessment criteria (derivedfrom FWA), which is obtained using the obtained HOQ data. In this study, the proposed framework isimplemented through a case study in a factory.
