چکیده مقاله:
The purpose of this study was to predict collectivism and individualism of students based on ineffective beliefs and social adjustment. The research method was descriptive correlational and the statistical population consisted of undergraduate students of Isfahan University and Khorasgan Azad University in the academic year of 2018-2019, which of these 140 were selected by simple random sampling. The instruments for measuring the research were three questionnaires: Jones irrational beliefs (1969), Bell’s social adjustment (1961), Ghorbani’s individualism- collectivism (2003). The data were collected and analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient test and stepwise regression in SPSS-24 software. The results of regression analysis indicated that the social adjustment variable, the component of emotional irresponsibility with the statistics and preparedness to blame negatively and significantly, and two components of the expectation of confirmation from others and the failure response can positively and significantly predict the changes in student’s individualism. Among the predictor variables of research, social adjustment and the expectation of confirmation from others positively and significantly, and excessive self-expectation can negatively and significantly predict the changes in collectivism of students.
