چکیده مقاله:
A car crankshaft rotates and controls valves by a timing belt. In general, automobile manufacturers have announced timing belt replacement time under ideal conditions above 120,000 km; however, driving in adverse conditions reduces the lifespan of the timing belt. If the timing belt breaks or slips, the engine immediately fails or gets severely damaged. Nothing special will happen if the timing belt breaks while driving; however, in any case, when the car is turned off, it should never be turned on as in some vehicles (such as Persia and top model cars), it will cause the valve to tilt. In this paper, we investigate and compare EPDM and CR timing belt failure stresses with a different number of tensile members, e.g., 12,16, and 20 for Pride timing belt and a varied number of tensile members, e.g., 10, 13, and 16 for XU7 timing belt.
