چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Physiological changes in pregnancy affect all systems of the body, especially the gastrointestinal tract, and the proper use of fiber is effective in the treatment of many diseases, including constipation and various cancers (especially colon cancer) (1-4). Method: In this descriptive-analytical study, pregnant women (second or thirdtrimester) in Yasuj were selected and information was obtained through questionnaires of 24-hour feed readings, socio-economic questionnaire and anthropometricmeasurements. Data were then analyzed using the software. Results: In this study, 400 pregnant women with mean age of 27 years and 60 kg pre pregnancy and 73 kg of current weight and BMI 23 before pregnancy and 27 days after pregnancy participated. The mean weight gain during pregnancy was 12 kg and mean fiber intake in pregnant women was 21.5 g. Results of statistical analysis showed that dietary fiber intake in 81% of pregnant women is inadequate, and women with proper and standard weights received more fiber than other pregnant women. There was a significant relationship between weight gain during pregnancy and dietary fiber intake. (p value> 0.05). In other cases, such as education, income level and physical disability, no significant correlation was found with fiber intake. Results: The results showed significant correlation between weight gain and fiber intake, and nutrition counseling and dietary regimen in pregnant women appear to be necessary.
