A review on desalination advances in the Europe

Water scarcity has grown during last decades in Europe which promoted their governments to look for new water resources. One of main water resources is sea water desalination. This article investigated water shortage in southern Europe countries and advances in water desalination in the last two decades. Growth in sea water desalination is observed. Also, desalination technology is shifted from heat base to membrane base, especially RO. Furthermore, the capacity of each desalination unit is changed from low capacity unit to large one. Since we have similar water challenges in our country, Study of Europe desalination trend in the last two decades can help us for more accurate planning. All the data in this paper are on the basis of literature survey
