چکیده مقاله:

In this study, the efficiency and effectiveness of a laboratory-scale biofilter model for reducing methane emitted from landfill by biofilter experiments were investigated by coating the landfill. According to these results, the most appropriate temperature at which the largest reduction in methane occurred was about 25 and 35 ° C, with the optimum temperature being 31 ° C. The optimum moisture in which the largest reduction in methane occurred is 10-15%. The pH level is actually the level at which methanotrophic bacteria can perform the methane decomposition process. According to Hanson s proposal in 1996, the tolerable pH ranges from 5.5 to 5.8. Various soils such as clay, sand and compost can be mentioned in relation to the type of landfill cover and the type that is effective in the decomposition process. Clay soils are very good as they can hold air and moisture. Sandy soil can be effective for the passage of oxygen and water to the lower layers of the landfill because of its high porosity and porosity. Because compost is high in nutrients and nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other nutrients as well as organic matter is agood source of nutrition for methanotrophs that can double the process of decomposition and reduction of methane.
