چکیده مقاله:

Peer observation is a two-way process that can benefit both the observer and the teacher being observed, with the goal of improving learning and teaching. It aims to support the sharing of best practices and build awareness about the impact of teaching. The aim of this paper was to examine how teachers can benefit each other with the help of peer observation and reflection. The second aim was to find out if experienced teachers can benefit by observing less experienced or novice teachers. For this purpose, 10 experienced (at least two years of experience) and 15novice teachers were selected from a University in Yazd, total participants were 25 EFL teachers. The data was collected by interviewing the teachers. The result showed that peer observation can be a good tool for reflection and self-improving. Experienced teachers’ perspective was that they can benefit from some less experienced and novice teachers, especially in technology-related matters. The participating teachers showed their positive perceptions on peer observation and saw it as means to develop their professionalism. For the second aim the experienced teachers’ perspective was that said that teachers are always in process of learning. They said according to scholars no teacher is a perfect teacher they said that by peer observation many of the teachers’ problems can be solved and they can learn from each other
