INTERNET ADDICTION AND ITS IMPACT ON GENERAL HEALTH OF STUDENTS, NONPROFIT NORTH UNIVERSITY IN 1395

Background and Aim : Today, a huge population in the world is using of Internet. Despite the benefits and positive changes that have emerged in the field of communication, there are negative Complications, including Internet addiction.Internet addiction means overuse or irrational use of the Internet. Public health is the maintenance of mental, physical and social health, So that the person can do his or her daily routine well And communicate with family and environment themselves, Accordingly, Internet addiction can interfere with the general health of individuals. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between internet addiction and general health of students.Methods : Survey method, sample size was 230 using Cochran s formula. Random categorical sampling method and data were collected using LAT Internet addiction inventory and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28). Data were analyzed using SPPS 19 software and statistical tests: mean comparison, analysis of variance, single-variable regression analysis.Results : Findings show that 18.5 percent of students are addicted to the Internet. Between Internet addiction with physical health (0.023) and anxiety (0.303) with depression (0.225) had a significant reverse relationship, In contrast, there is no meaningful relationship between Internet addiction and disruption of social function.Conclusion : There is a meaningful and inverse relationship between internet addiction and general health of students. In order to use the Internet properly, it is better to Supervision, control, educate, and create a culture.
