Background and Aim : Addiction is associated with psychiatric symptoms. Two of the most common symptoms are depression and anxiety. On the other hand, complementary and available treatments like EFT can help reduce symptoms. The purpose of this review is to investigate the effect of this method on anxiety and depression in addiction.Methods : In this study, a review of the collection of articles that was indexed in the Scopus databases; ISI; science direct; Google scholar; Pubmed; using keywords: addiction, EFT, psychological symptoms in addiction, and extracted articles. Persian and English have been reviewed for ten years.Results : : EFT or tapping therapy and release of emotions is a way to represent suppressed feelings and address them. In EFT, the hand is used to release the neural pathways in the body. The combination of finger shots with certain points in the body and the expression of phrases to emphasize the release of emotions is one of the main points of this technique. A great deal of research has been done on the effect of this method on reducing psychological symptoms, including research on the impact of the EFT on the psychological symptoms of addiction. The evaluation of a study by Dawson Church and his colleagues on 100 samples in 90 days that had a significant effect on the reduction of mental distressConclusion : EFT, as an easy learning method, low cost and available learning, has a great effect on reducing psychiatric disorders. Since most addicted people have symptoms such as anxiety and depression, this method can greatly help to reduce their symptoms
