Background and Aim : Knowing and controlling emotions and sentiments, which are the main topics of emotional intelligence, can affect interpersonal relationships, especially in the family, and can have important effects on adolescents. Therefore The aim of this study was to investigate the The relationship between parents emotional intelligence and cannabis addiction in adolescents.Methods : The present study is a correlation method and convenient method. The sample size of the study was 50 parents of parents of adolescent addicted to cannabis who referred to the community health center in Shiraz to follow their children s treatment. The instrument of this study was a standardized Bar-Antic-Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (EQ-i) that has appropriate validity and reliability. After collecting data, data were analyzed for descriptive and inferential statistics by SPSS software.Results : The findings of this study showed that among the subscales of emotional intelligence (self-esteem, social responsibility, interpersonal relationships, empathy, self-instrumental, realism, flexibility, problem solving, stress management, shake control, happiness) has a negative significant relationship with cannabis addiction of children. However, no significant relationship was found between emotional intelligence subscales (autonomy, self-esteem, optimism) and cannabis addiction of children.Conclusion : Regarding the fact that EQs can be improved by training, it is suggested to increase the scores of the family in order to increase the level of community health and prevent the addiction to cannabis in adolescents by conducting related workshops
